As already posted once my hp envy 7640 prints with an unacceptable quality.
I have sent it in for repair and received a new one unfortunately the quality is still unusable.
This leads me to believe the ink cartridges are dryed up.
However the cartridge was inserted on 13/7/2018 and about 3 months later after printing about 30 pages the pages are only partly readable. I have kept track of my Printer usage history on google drive.
This is the second HP 62 cartridge I am not satisfied with.
The 3 level cleaning does not help.
If I insert a brand new cartridge I expect it to be good again however the existing cartridge is not empty.
I cannot believe this the quality that can be expected?
Below you can find some scans of my latest prints
On best quality everything that is printed can be read but the quality is still sub standard IMO.
I have two questions
* Could a manual cleaning of the cartridges help? Any tips there?
* Since I am really dissatisfied I would like to replace this model with another one (maybe a laserjet).
Anyone know who I can contact for this?
TIA,
Frederic

Good Day. A warm welcome to the HP community.
I reviewed the case regarding issues with the printer. I will be delighted to assist you here.
Clean ink cartridges:
1. Gather the following materials:
* Dry foam-rubber swabs, lint-free cloth, or any soft material that does not come apart or leave fibers (coffee filters work well)
* Distilled, filtered, or bottled water (tap water might contain contaminants that can damage the cartridges)
CAUTION: Do not use platen cleaners or alcohol to clean the cartridge contacts. These can damage the cartridge or the printer.
2. Press the Power button to turn on the printer, if it is not already on.
3. Open the cartridge access door.
4. Disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer.
5. Remove the ink cartridges.
6. Lightly moisten a foam-rubber swab or lint-free cloth with distilled water, and then squeeze any excess water from it.
7. Clean only the copper-colored contacts on the cartridge, and then allow the cartridge to dry for about 10 minutes.
8. Reinsert the cartridge by sliding it at a slight upward angle into the empty slot, and then gently pushing up on the cartridge until it snaps into place.
9. Reconnect the power cord to the rear of the printer. Try printing.
Let me know. 🙂

Hi,
Thanks for the tip,
Unfortunately it did not help.
I have taken a picture from the copper head after cleaning and one print attempt.
Is this a known issue?
Do you have models/technology which has no such issues?
Is laserjet better? Is the officejet product range better?
Note: I have a BW laserjet which has been working for years without issues.
I had a HP OJ 95 prior to the HP Envy which after many years had poor but usable quality.
I am very dissapointed (and surprised by my HP envy 7640.
I will replace the cartridge and give an update (in a couple of months?) if the problem re-appears.
Regards,
Frederic
