Hi all,
I need instructions on how to reset the region code on my HP OfficeJetPro 6970 from France to the USA.
I purchased an HP OfficeJetPro 6970 in France in 2018, and recently moved back to the USA. I had the correct HP cartridge set in France (903) and recently bought the correct new HP cartridge set in USA (902). The printer is set to France region code and so will not accept the USA region 902 cartridges despite restarting device, downloading new firmware etc. I receive an "incompatible cartridge error". The available online HP materials say to contact an HP agent to reset the region code ( https://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c02558798), but there is no way to speak to an actual person without getting a case number first via the automated online assistant. The automated online assistant will not provide any case number, most likely because the printer is now out of warranty; instead it points me back to contact an HP agent. So, I am now stuck!
May I kindly ask for instructions to reset the region code from France to USA on my HP OfficeJet Pro 6970?
Best

Welcome to the HP Support Community.
To do a printer region reset you need to meet the following conditions:
1. The printer should be connected using a printer USB cable to the computer.
2. You need to have the printer full feature software installed on your computer.
3. You need to have all the cartridges either from the region from where the printer was purchased originally or the new region to which you want to reset it to.
Reply with the requested information for more assistance.
Cheers.
