Hi,
Just wanted to share a tip in case it's useful to anyone else.
I've got a HP 3830 and every time I printed I was getting the "Attention Required" error message.
I'd added the printer by choosing "Add Device" and then choosing the printer when Windows 11 found it.
If instead after clicking "Add Device" you choose "Add a new device manually", and then choose "My printer is a little older, Help me find it" and follow the wizard through it should connect to the printer over TCP/IP instead of WSD and will hopefully solve the "Attention Required" issue.
Hope it helps someone.

Hi @Matt_1x1x,
Thanks for sharing that, Matt — super helpful tip!
The "Attention Required" error on Windows with printers like the HP 3830 is such a pain, and WSD (Web Services for Devices) is often the culprit. Your workaround—adding the printer manually and connecting via TCP/IP instead—makes a ton of sense, and it's a solid fix for getting a more stable connection.
Just to build on your tip for anyone trying this:
Go to Settings > Bluetooth & devices > Printers & scanners.
Click "Add device", then "The printer that I want isn’t listed."
Select "My printer is a little older. Help me find it", or use "Add a printer using a TCP/IP address or hostname" for even more control.
Enter your printer’s IP address (you can usually find it from the printer’s touchscreen or print out a network config page).
Let Windows install the appropriate driver.
This bypasses WSD and gives a more consistent experience—especially for printers that don’t play well with the auto-detection stuff.
Really appreciate you dropping this tip.
Take care and have a good day
