Hi Kuroi,

Thank you for your response.

I have already reset via HP Smart app for PC.

HP Smart app didn't request for admin's  password. 🤔

Also I connected the printer to PC via USB cable.

May be it will help somebody else. 😁

 Thanks again😊

Hi @Abdulmajeed1,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

To reset the password or PIN on your HP LaserJet M141w printer, you can follow these steps.

Reset the Printer to Factory Defaults:

  • Turn on the printer.
  • On the printer control panel, press the Home button.
  • Navigate to Settings (the gear icon).
  • Go to Restore Defaults or Reset and select Restore Network Defaults or Factory Reset (depending on the options available).
  • Confirm the reset action, and the printer will return to its default settings, removing any PINs or passwords.

Reset via the Web Interface:

  • Connect the printer to your network and find its IP address (you can print a configuration page from the printer’s control panel).
  • Enter the printer's IP address into a web browser.
  • Log in to the printer’s web interface. If prompted for a password, use the default credentials:
    • Username: admin
    • Password: admin (or blank if not set)
  • Look for options to reset or change security settings, including PINs or passwords, under Security settings.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.

I can't find the Home button on my m141w printer. I can't reset my PIN. I remember my user PIN but it doesn't work. Can you help?

Hi @infinityaren,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding password reset!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

Since the HP LaserJet M141w does not have a Home button, you can guide the customer through an alternative reset method. Here’s what they can do:

Reset via Button Combination (Hard Reset)

  1. Turn off the printer.
  2. Press and hold the Wi-Fi button and the Cancel (X) button together.
  3. While holding both buttons, turn the printer back on.
  4. Keep holding the buttons until the Wi-Fi light starts blinking.
  5. Release the buttons and wait for the printer to restart.

🔹 This should reset the network settings, including any PINs.

Reset via Embedded Web Server (EWS)

If the printer is still connected to a network, try resetting it via the HP Embedded Web Server (EWS):

  1. Find the printer’s IP address:
    • Print a Network Configuration Page (Press and hold the Wi-Fi button until it prints).
    • The IP address will be listed.
  2. Open a web browser on a PC connected to the same network.
  3. Type the IP address in the address bar and hit Enter.
  4. Log in (Default credentials:
    • Username: admin
    • Password: blank or admin
  5. Navigate to SettingsSecurityRestore Defaults.
  6. Choose Restore Network Defaults and confirm.

If the User PIN Still Doesn’t Work

  • Try "000000" as the default PIN.

Let me know if you need more troubleshooting steps! 😊
