This is the most recent issue in a litany of problems we have tried to fix with our printer today (see the "previous problems" below). The current problem began after we decided to restore the default settings to solve our original problems. The current problem is that the LCD menu on our printer has displayed the message "Restoring settings. Please wait." for over a half-hour.

If there is any support you can provide that can help us at home (i.e. does not require shipping the printer to a repair center) we would be very grateful.

===================

Previous Problems:

This printer was connected to a wireless router by an ethernet cable, our computers (Dell and Alienware laptops running Windows 10 Home and/or Pro) are connected to the router wirelessly, and we always had problems printing. 80% of the time I tried to print, I would be told the printer is offline (even when it was in the on state), and I was reinstalling the driver on a regular basis.

So, we had enough, we're going to instead connect our printer to the wireless router through Wi-Fi.

At some point, we were unable to print test pages and network configuration pages directly from the printer's menu. The printer's touch screen would display a message (I can't remember the precise words) "Printing... Please wait." But nothing would print after several minutes. We unplugged the ethernet cable from the printer. We unplugged and plugged back in the power cable. We contacted HP support over the phone, but the support member said they could not hear us, so we had to terminate the call and they did not return a phone call to us.

We had enough, we were going to restart the machine with the factory settings.
