My HP printer, Deskjet 3650, reports that it is offline. I can't find how to get it back online. Operating system: Windows 7. Antivirus: Bitdefender. I have used both the printer trouble shooter and the print and scan doctor. Neither produced any information at all other than to tell me the printer was not turned on. Since I can see the power light, that is not true.

PROBLEM SOLVED
Thanks for your suggestion about how to restore my HP printer to online status. I am sure it would work, however I found a simpler solution in just re-booting the computer. I originally plugged in the printer to the UBS port while the computer was on. As far as I can tell the computer then misread the printer status as off. I unplugged the printer and re-plugged it several times to no avail, but I did not re-boot. I gave up and shut everything down. When I started the system next day, with the printer plugged in, everything was fine.

Hi Hillhouse102,
Thank you for visiting the HP Support Forums and Welcome. I have read your thread on your HP Deskjet 3650 Color Inkjet Printer and not printing with wireless. Here is fix to try. Reset your printer and router, and computer.
Turn off the wireless router. If the wireless router does not have a power button, disconnect the power cord on the router to turn it off. Press the Power button on the printer to turn it off. Shut down the computer.Turn the wireless router back on. If the wireless router does not have a power button, reconnect the power cord to the router to turn it on. Turn on the computer. Press the Power button on the printer to turn it on again. Try printing. If that does not work try following this document on wireless printing.
Hope this helps.
Thanks.
