I have a new 2820e printer. Every time I print more than one page the resume light comes on and I have to press the button to print the next page

Hi @CageyS,
Welcome to the HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.
If your HP DeskJet Ink Advantage 2820e All-in-One Printer is showing the Resume light after every page and requires you to press the button to continue printing, this is not expected behavior for normal multi-page printing. Let’s try a few steps to troubleshoot and resolve it:
Step 1: Check for Paper Feed or Tray Issues
- Ensure the paper is properly loaded in the input tray.
- Adjust the paper width guides so they lightly touch the paper stack.
- Make sure the paper is not curled, damp, or too thick.
The Resume light may blink if the printer thinks it's out of paper or can't feed the next sheet.
Step 2: Check for Print Settings Conflicts
- Open the HP Smart app or Control Panel > Devices and Printers.
- Right-click your printer > Printing Preferences.
- Ensure the paper size and type match what’s loaded in the tray.
- Disable any manual feed or prompt before printing options.
Step 3: Update Firmware and Drivers
- Go to the official driver page: 🔗 HP DeskJet Ink Advantage 2800 All-in-One Printer series Software and Driver Downloads | HP® Support
- Download and install:
- Latest firmware
- Full feature software and drivers
Step 4: Reset the Printer
- With the printer on, unplug the power cord from the back.
- Wait 60 seconds.
- Plug it back in and turn the printer on.
I hope this helps.
Take care, and have an amazing day!
