I bought a new HP printer from Amazon that came with ink.  I then signed up for HP Instant Ink.  I am now returning the printer because it was defective.  I cancelled HP Instant ink and I get an email that says I have to return the ink to HP.

I am thinking I need to return the ink with the printer I am sending to Amazon?

Hey there! @allenga,

You don't need to return the ink cartridges to HP and if the cartridges you are using are instant ink ready cartridges. You can ignore the email and return the product back to Amazon.

Also, if the ink cartridges you are using are from instant ink, please ship the cartridges back to HP.

If you do not have the postage-paid envelope provided by HP, go to Recycling HP Instant Ink Cartridges to order an envelope.*

Refer the image attached below to know more information.

Hope this answers your query!

I hope you have a great day! 🙂
