I've used non-HP cartridges before, but it's been a few years. I didn't agree to a reduction in functionality to block non-HP cartridges. I frankly don't care if HP can't guarantee performance with non-HP cartridges...that's my call to make that risk. I want my printer to accept the cartridges that I've installed. HP already lost one class-action lawsuit for this garbage. I'm simply amazed that they're doing it again. If this is how HP is going to behave, I'm going to push my organization (with close to 50,000 endpoints) to phase HP out of our portfolio.

Hi @rando_name,
Welcome to the HP Support Community
I'd like to help!
You may refill your cartridges or use remanufactured cartridges, but you may run into problems. HP will not guarantee the functionality of those ink cartridges.
There are many cartridges in the market which is refilled and sometimes the chip is not configured to work with the printer. You need to contact the cartridge manufacturer and find out why it's not working. Try a different cartridge supplier and check if that works.
I hope this helps! Keep me posted.
