Just moved into my new garden office which only has a wired Ethernet connection. Thought it would be no problem as I can run the printer over USB. However, printing now very inconvenient as printer takes a long time to spool up a print job while looking for non-existent wi-fi / internet connection. I also have to clear an error screen on the printer itself before it will print.
Any way I can disable this?

Hi @Aldo9090
Welcome to the HP Support Community. I'd be happy to assist you with the connectivity issues with the printer. Since you are using a wired connection, disabling the wireless on the printer may help.
On the printer screen, tap the wireless icon/antenna at the bottom.
Go to Wireless > Off
Go to Wifi Direct > Off
On the MAC, go to system preferences, delete any Wireless printers.
- Make sure the cable is directly connected between the MAC and the printer.
- The use of a USB hub is not recommended. Also, make sure the cable is connected to a USB 2.0 port on your MAC.
- Check if the printer is getting recognized by your MAC:
- From the Apple menu, choose About This Mac.
- Click System Report.
- Under the Hardware heading on the left side of the System Information window, click USB.
USB 3 devices appear under USB 3.0 Bus, and USB 2 devices appear under USB 2.0 Bus. The printer should be under the USB 2.0 Bus
Install the printer using AirPrint driver with USB multifunction under 'kind'.
Please ensure that the printer is up to date with its firmware and Mac is up to date with its software. If you are unsure you may use the links below to update the printer firmware and Mac software:
1.) Click the Apple menu, click System Preferences, and then click Print & Scan or Printers & Scanners.
2.) Check if your printer name displays in the Printers list, If your printer is listed, click the printer name, click the minus sign to delete the printer.
3.) If you see multiple printer queues for the same printer, remove all extra printers by selecting them one at a time, and then clicking the minus button at the bottom of the list.
4.) Click the plus sign, click Add Printer or Scanner, click the printer name.
5.) Click the Use or Print Using menu, select AirPrint in the pop-up menu. Then click Add.
6.) Try to print.
Hope this helps! Keep me posted.
