I wouldn't be so sure your issue is solved. My two replacement printers worked for a short time then exhibited the same issue again.

I absolutely agree - it is not solved at all! In my case, the printer that I bought in marched was replaced by 2 new printers and several cyan cartridges (one originally shipped with the first printer, one that I bought, and at least 2 replacement cartridges). Whenever printer/cartridge was replaces or exchanged against a new one, printing was fine for a few weesk, but ebentually we had the sam 10.01.11 event code message again and again. On Nov. 30th, HP replaced a controller component of the last printer (the second replacement printer...). Things worked well until yesterday - guess what: 10.01.11 event code for cyan toner cartridge appeared again, and we cannot print a single letter. I don't know anymore what to do. It's just not a reliable situation.

I have had exactly the same issue with my HP printer MFP M479fdw in June 2020 after only 9 months of very low usage. HP provided a replacement printer, which showed yesterday (06.01.2021) again the same error.  I hope that HP is able to provide a more sustainable solution this time. The tag "solved" for this thread is misleading given the replies in this thread.

I am having the same issue.  I bought this printer in June 2020 and have replaced all of the ink cartridges.  It has worked fine until today, when this error appeared.  I have not moved/nudged/bumped or otherwise disturbed the unit.  It has full ink cartridges.  I have unplugged/waited/plugged back in, removed all ink cartridges and replaced, checked that all doors are closed, etc. and the printer now will not even print in black and white!  After spending hundreds of dollars on toner, this is unacceptable!!  How do we get HP to fix it?!

A technician from the HP support exchanged the main board of my M479fdw printer today. This fixed the problem. Other measures were not successful. It seems that there is no sustainable solution to that problem, yet. Luckily, my printer is still under warranty. When the same problem would appear (a third time) again in a couple of months, which is possible given the previous replies in this thread, it might be out of warranty. In that case, it is possibly cheaper to buy a new printer. I can only keep my fingers crossed that the problem will not show up again. The most annoying fact is that the printer refuses to print at all, even not black/white, when this error for the cyan toner cartridge pops up.

MK638 - I wouldn't be so quick to say this fixed the problem. After two replacement printers and four replacement cartridges mine is working but I really doubt they have it fixed as it fails after some amount of time every time. I am hoping that they just got a defective batch of circuit boards for their cartridges but until someone at higher up at HP (not the support weenies that you have to deal with) definitely informs us they have discovered and solved the problem will I stop worrying. I have only 2 months left on my warranty and could not get a straight answer from HP support about what would happen after my problem reoccurs especially as this seems to be endemic with this printer/cartridges. They said they can't answer that until my printer breaks again.  Wonderful.

PVT-SNAFU - With "fixed" I meant "fixed for the moment". I share your doubts that this is a sustainable solution (as I wrote afterwards).

MK638 - Sorry. Didn't mean to imply that you thought you issue was corrected.

I just worry that words like Fixed by themselves causes HP to quickly drop the issue (example being that this thread shows "Solved" at the top). I know in my multiple cases they are real quick to close the case if the printer is working even though I believe it will fail in the future. When I call in they always treat it as a new issue even though I explain that this has happened multiple time and I have had multiple "Fixes"

Starting to sound like a class action lawsuit for me. Wonder if any lawyers have purchased one of these lemons. (Yes, I will call it a lemon until I have assurance that the **bleep** problem has been discovered, corrected, and not just band aided)

My theory, for which I have very little evidence, is that the fault can be triggered by powering down the printer when it is busy waking up or otherwise interacting with the cartridges. I have a feeling my problems occurred when waking the printer out of deep sleep and then quickly powering off. The cartridge failures would then appear on next power up.  I now leave my printer (my third after two replacements) powered on. No problems after three months, but need more time to gain confidence.

I just wanted to add to my 11/25/20 post about my M479fdw printer. It is currently sitting in my garage awaiting me taking it to the electronic recycler as junk. As I said, I used in (lightly) for one year and HP would not stand behind it because I was 4 weeks over the standard warranty. Didn't HP used to be the one that really stood behind their products - which normally would last many, many years? That is why I didn't worry about the 1 year warranty originally. I couldn't wait around so I bought a similar Cannon printer - which comes standard with a 3-year warranty. Has all the same functions. If anybody is reading this post who is considering buying the HP479 series printer, I would strongly recommend that you consider another brand. If anybody wants my old HP (like brand new, except it doesn't work) you can have it. Post back here with some contact info and I'll get back to you. I'm in Sacramento, Calif.
