Since I bought my printer HP Color LaserJet MFP M477fdw about 5 years ago, the only problem I have is with this Scan Service to Google Drive. The last time was in Feb 2024 Case ID: [Personal Information Removed], after spending hours on the phone with several HP specialists asking me to do several tests and updating drivers, and firmware, that didn't work finally I got help from a support specialist who did the only thing previous specialists didn't try: Try to scan a document at HP Dallas office from the same model printer and to verify that the service was not working. The solution was to ask an internal HP team to start the server which allow the web service to work. So it was not on my printer side, but on the HP side.
Now I am having a similar problem, I am getting the following error:
Connection Error: 500. The printer is unable to connect to the service.
Check the internet connection. Press [Retry] or try again or [OK] to exit.
I verified I have my computer connected to the internet. I suspect it going to be the same problem, would be possible for someone else to check if the service is available for other users?
Going to customer service, they want you to pay for support not considering that most of the time the issue is on the HP side, not connecting to the web service. Trying to contact HP support is really a nightmare. You have to spend hours repeating over and over again the same information and being transferred from one incompetent person to another.
Yesterday I opened a case:
CRM:[Personal Information Removed]
Case Number [Personal Information Removed]– Created
They promised to verify with an internal HP team to check if the server is available (turned on) and to call me back today, but they didn't.
thanks for any help,
David
