Scan to PC (Mac) lost function of OSX 10.11, how to correct ?

Once the Easy Scan app was installed, I didn't have to do anything but open the app and scan.  Worked very smoothly.  Thanks so much for the link to the proper app.!  Saved me hours I bet!

After running all these fixes including upgrading patch to printer and bringing in HP Scan software the result is identical for my HPCM2320Ffxi MFP with Mac running OS X 10.11.5: 

I CAN'T SCAN!

My HP CM 2320nf MFP SCANNER does not work with Mac OS X 10.11.5

Following the solution in this forum it states to do the following:

"""Next go to System Preferences > Printers & Scanners and double click the printer, then open the Setting tab and open the HP utility."""

Did this but there is NO "HP Utility" in the Setting tab.

Anyone know what to do now?

To get to HP Utility on my Mac I use Launchpad.  The icon is usually in the dock but sometimes it gets removed and you have to put it back for easy access.

Launchpad makes no difference, the scan icon is there but no longer active

I have been using the HP EasyScan app for a while, and it works well, but my HP Photosmart printer had a lot of Mac OSx Automator Workflow actions that got installed along with it and those are all pretty much broken. 

I was able to fix the "Open HP Scan" workflow action by changing the launched app from HP Scan to the new HP EasyScan, but all the other workflows are not fix-able by me.  When I try to launch the "Open PDF in Preview" workflow action, the Mac OSx Automater complains about the Scan action and "Change Type of Files" actions not being Universal, and that I should ask the developer for a Universal version of each of these actions.

Hey HP!  How about some Mac OSx Workflow automator actions that will get my HP Printer able to do things from its screen like emailing a scanned image, saving a scanned image in my Pictures folder, etc.  Here's the list:

Add to iPhoto Library

Email Image

Email PDF

Open HP Scan (modified to HP EasyScan)

Open in Preview

Open PDF in Preview

Save in Pictures

Save PDF in Documents

All these actions get launched from my HP Photosmart printer's screen, and the only one I can get to work is the Open HP Scan one.  All the others have issues with the Scan and Change Type of Files actions being non-Universal actions.
