HP PageWide Pro 477dw Multifunction Printer
Microsoft Windows 11

Hello,

Here is my very first post on HP forums (tough a long time user of HP printers). I have a problem on my HP PageWide Pro MFP 477dw printer.

  • The display of looks normal with the home screen (print and scan icons). But it is frozen, the printer is not detected anymore on my WiFi network, and the web page of my printer is not online.
  • When I press the start/stop button (short or long press), it turns to orange and when I release it turns back to green and the printer does not stop.
  • When I unplug the power cord (from printer + from wall + wait one minute), the printer wakes up, display the HP logo, then HP logo + “Pagewide technology” text, it makes the normal noises. As soon as the home screen is displayed it remains active during one second then it freezes again.

Can anybody help?

I figured it out!!! the new update does this to the printer.  I went through the chat option, they sent me a link to download onto a thumb drive (must have a thumb drive) then they give you instructions on how to upload the old firmware.  It was a pain in the you know what, but after about a hour and a half, its up and running again!

You got it working from the blue screen to the "drive reflash" option or you did it in the control pannel from USB, update setting option. just curious... and what firmware version have you use? 2340c or 21313A firmware?
