Printer HP OfficeJet 5200 series. Trying to print a pattern to scale. Selecting Custom 100% scale and printer is still not printing to the desired scale. Adobe print preview is showing the desired print preview, but when printed by printer the printer is not printing 100%. This is not allowing for me to put my pattern together correctly. How do I adjust these auto selected margins that are not allowing to print to scale properly? The left and right sides are being shrunk.

Welcome to the HP Community Forum.
Operating System = "Not provided"
The issue is not likely the printer margins unless you needed borderless.
Print Margin Bottom (A4) | 3.0 mm |
Print Margin Left (A4) | 3.0 mm |
Print Margin Right (A4) | 3.0 mm |
Print Margin Top (A4) | 3.0 mm |

It's possible that the pattern does not fit on the paper with the required margins that Adobe enforces.
To find out whether the file will actually print on one paper using this software -- and at actual size (100%),
Open the file in Adobe Reader DC
Click the Print icon
Set your paper size in Properties
Select "Page Sizing & Handling" = Poster
After selecting Poster, CHECK "Tile only larger pages"
If the pattern (file to be printed) shows on one page (one sheet of paper), "Actual" 100% size might print.
Example - PDF Document - Compare Poster Settings (Tile)
PDF_Document_Poster_Compare_Tile_1
What else?
If Adobe won't print your file at 100% / Actual size,
If you are convinced the data fits on one sheet of paper,
Use a different software / application that is available using your Operating System.
