I own of CP4525 printer and have consulted to documentation and can't find any solution to this issue. I would prefer to take to primary paper feed from stay 2 but I can't find where to set this as a default. As a result I need to either load paper into the manual paper feed Tray 1 or keep pushing OK once I send a print job to force the feed to switch to tray 2. Can anyone suggest a fix

By your description you state that the printer is always prompting to feed from tray 1. The most common causes are having tray 2 set for a non-standard paper size that does not match the paper that the print job is being requested on. Tray 2 should be set for standard size (letter or A4) and paper type set to plain. You should also ensure that your printer driver is set that way. If your print job is set for a different paper then you will get the prompt to add paper to tray1 and press ok.

Thanks for your response a few comments. if I want to use glossy paper of a heavier weight in Tray 2, are there any restrictions on doing this? you mentioned that if the paper  type was not standard I assume that means it’s not matte??  it will default to Tray 1. is this what you mean? point of clarification can I take it? There’s no way I can set Tray 2 as the default if there is not a standard paper type a.k.a. Matte
