iOS 12 - 12.0.1

Hp office jet printer wireless connection- ink is set to color and I can’t change it to grayscale. The printer itself is set to default b/w.

  • Provide the printer model number or product number?

Sorry for the lack of info. I use the HP Smart app on my iPad3 and my HP OfficeJet Pro 6970 is the recognized printer. I can print from the iPad, but each time I want to print the default settings are "single-sided" and "color" ink. I almost always print in grayscale/black, so I have to manually change the ink to black. I can access settings both in the app and on the iPad, but nowhere have I found a way to change the default ink color. Thanks for your reply.

  • Did you try to uninstall and reinstall HP smart app and try again?

For now, try these steps:

  • Uninstall HP Smart app and reinstall it from Apple iTunes.
