Hello,

how do I bypass the set up cartridges they did not come in the box and I bought ink but it won’t let me get pass the set up cartridges on the printer.

it’s Hp office jet 5258

Hi @NicoleSciarr,

 

Welcome to HP Support Community.

 

 Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you. I understand you do not have the setup ink cartridges. To bypass the message on the printer the only option left is to perform an OOBE reset and re-initialize the printer.

 

I request you to follow the steps mentioned below.

  • Touch the Home button once, then the Back button twice, then the Home button once.
  • Open the ink cartridge access door, and then close it. A Load Paper message displays on the control panel display, and the printer begins initializing.
  • If the initialization does not begin, repeat steps 1 and 2 until it does.

Follow the prompts on the control panel display to complete initialization.
