Hi, I set up this printer with my last internet provider and router easily. When I got the new router,  the printer didn't connect so I am trying to set it up to work. I uninstalled and reinstalled the software, but get to the part of "Device Discovery" Device Setup and my device is not automatically listed as the last time.

I have printed out the Network Configuration page. Network status shows offline and the SSID is my old network, not the new one.

What version of OS X?

SInce your printer is still looking for your old network, let's restore it to default:

Press the Wireless button and the Cancel button from the printer control panel at the same time, and then hold them for 5 seconds.

Now, try installing the printer again.

I have the same issue. Since I got a new router I can't print. The blue light next to the wireless button is flashing.

I have tried pressing the wireless button and the Cancel button together for 5 seconds but nothing happens . The light still flashes.

Is there something else I can do to reset this?

Thanks

Thank you! This was the key. It finally was able to connect.

Hi. Still not working I'm afraid.

I hold the buttons down together for longer than 5 seconds and the blue light stops flashing but within 5 or 10 seconds it starts flashing again. Is there something else I can do?

Thanks

The light flashing means that the wireless is working but not connected to a network, which would be the result of a reset, so I think you did it OK.

Hi I have had to change broadband etc again and now can't get my HP printer back online. I can print via hpsetup, but obviously this is a pain in the longterm.

I have followed the instructions on using HP setup and then putting the printer's ip address into my browser and manually putting in the network name etc. But i still can get it online. I've printed out the wireless test report and the network name has changed and is in the configuration summary but it has failed  in the diagnostics summary.

Printer settings Not Run

connected Not run

Signal strength Not run

etc etc

What do I need to Do?

HP Recommended

1 I don't have the wireless wizard with  the c4580.

2 I don't have this option on the CD -Reconfigure Network Settings from Printer Setup & Software or from the Welcome Back screen from the CD.

I have managed to get the printer setup via the hpsetup netwok and access the printers wireless configuration via the browser, but the printer still doesn't connect.

What settings do I need to put into the browser to make it work.

Netwrork name. obviously yes.

WPA password. This is my wireless password right?

Do I need to input anything else? ip address? DNS? Adhoc settings?

Thanks

Alan

Reset your wireless settings using the key sequence in posts above.

Next, connect to hpsetup, then navigate to the Network tab, then run the Wireless Setup WIzard (it seems like you have gotten this far).

Yes, the WPA password is your wireless password. That is all you should need to connect.  You do not need DNS or anything else.
