I need to install the print driver for an HP Officejet Pro 9018 inkjet printer op a local machine that will be accessed remotely through Windows 10 RDP. I don't have the printer at this location and the driver packages I am able to get from the website all stall out during installation as they expect to connect to the printer. Is there package the will install without the printer or a way to do it without having to drag the printer here?

Hi,
This has nothing much to do with the printer, however, more with the Remote Desktop Connection configuration.
I suggest going through below steps and check:

Hope that helps,

I have gone through the first two steps on the list, it is the third step I am having the issue with, installing the driver on the RDP server. The install packages wont continue without having the printer physically connected to what will be the server in this RDP connection.

Hi,
You should not follow the installation wizard, but go through a manual installation:
- Download and launch below drivers:
https://ftp.hp.com/pub/softlib/software13/printers/OJP9010/OJP9010_Basicx64_49.6.4502.exe - As the installation starts, click No or press Continue and then Cancel.
- Within the search bar type %temp% and open the shown Temp folder.
- Open the latest HP installation folder, which it names begins with 7z (e.g. 7z1234a), be sure to select the newest folder with that name.
- Click the top address bar and copy the path of this folder, you will need to use this path later as the source when clicking Have Disk within the Add Printer Wizard.
- Follow Step 2 – Install the printer driver on the remote PC in the link below to install the printer driver on the server, by using the install path as listed in the previous step as the disk source:
https://proposedsolution.com/solutions/remote-desktop-connection-rdc-printer-install/
Now the printer should be added as soon as you disconnect and reconnect to the RDP session.
