Hi. My title says it really. New printer. When I press the power button, it goes into standby, with the power button and the wifi lights illuminated, and I think it said to fully power down, hold the power button for 5 seconds. I want to do what is best for keeping the printer healthy. Any thoughts welcome.

Personally I leave my printer in standby so that it can wake up and print if I send a print job. The standby state is very low power. Some printers models can also wake themselves up after some time to perform printhead servicing automatically. (I do not know if your printer model does this.)
Whether or not you keep the printer powered on it should always be plugged into a live outlet. Do not use an outlet switch or other external switch to disrupt power to the printer.
