I have a new ColorLaser Pro MFP M283 printer.  Is it best to leave the printer in sleep mode when it is inactive, or should I schedule it to shut off?

If you do not print very often I would set it to shut off, no sense wasting power. If you use it often though, having to wait for it to wake and warm up from off might be inconvenient.

Hi @CharlesE41,

I'd like to help!

If you would not be using the printer after a particular time, you could schedule off on the printer

Choose the best option for your convenience-

Use the control panel menus to set the amount of idle time before the printer enters sleep mode.

Complete the following procedure to change the Sleep/Auto-Off After setting:

1. From the Home screen on the printer control panel, swipe until the Setup menu displays. Touch the Setup icon to open the menu.

2. Open the following menus: a. System Setup b. Energy Settings c. Sleep/Auto Off After

3. Select the time for the Sleep/Auto Off After delay.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted.
