This new printer replaces an HP Envy which stopped printing and was thrown out! This one is connected OK but takes 60-90 seconds per page despite it being right next to the router and computer with 200MBPS. The router has a dynamic IP which I know can cause problems if I manually add the IP address. It had trouble installing from the computer as it recognised the printer but failed to connect. I had to do the setup from the printer screen to the computer and that worked but with this slow printing issue.

I have tried re-installing, Print and Scan doctor, re-booting both printer and router. Scanning also takes a similar time.

Any suggestions?

Ian

I just wanted to update you.  I suppose in frustration, I deleted the printer and re-installed the latest firmware directly from HP, reinstalling everything and it is now working as it should with the print delay now only a few seconds.

I hope this might be the problem solved.

Make sure that the printer is at least 6 feet from the router.

Did you assign a static IP to the printer?

Check the firmware on the printer > link

Do you get the same results printing using the USB port?

Thanks for your reply. The update will not install as the computer cannot find the printer. I have always had to install from the printer. I cannot move the router 6 feet away as there is no room but this has never been an issue in the past. I have not tried a static IP because it always only works for  around 3-4 days before losing the connection (something to do with cable broadband I believe). I would assume a USB would work but I want a wireless connection as I use this with other items wirelessly so it would defeat the point.

I am not trying to be stubborn and I really appreciate your help. I do get annoyed with HP as all 3 printers have had similar issues and I ended up only using USB with the last one and that's why I disposed of it only to find a brand new one doing the same. It isn't the computer as I have the issue with my other HP inkjet using a laptop as I have with this one using a desktop.

I suppose I was hoping there was a solution I had missed!
