@Gedoral21, Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
It sounds like your HP Smart Tank 725 is experiencing issues related to the printhead installation, which is common after a replacement. Here are some troubleshooting steps to help resolve the blinking lights issue:

Check the Printheads Again

  • Remove the printheads (both black and color) and inspect them.
  • Clean the gold contacts on both the printheads and the carriage using a lint-free cloth lightly dampened with distilled water.
  • Reinsert the printheads carefully, ensuring they click into place properly.

Reset the Printer

  • Turn off the printer and unplug it from the power source.
  • Wait for 2-3 minutes to allow any residual power to discharge.
  • While unplugged, press and hold the power button for 15-20 seconds.
  • Reconnect the power cable and turn the printer back on.

Check for Jammed Carriage

  • Open the front cover and ensure the carriage moves freely from left to right.
  • If the carriage is stuck, gently move it to the center and remove any obstacles.

Use a Forced Firmware Recovery (if applicable)

  • Disconnect the power and leave it unplugged for at least 5 minutes.
  • While holding the Power + Cancel buttons, reconnect the power and keep holding the buttons until the lights stop blinking.

Try a Factory Reset

  • Turn off the printer.
  • Press and hold both the Power and Resume buttons (triangle icon) simultaneously for 10-15 seconds.
  • Release the buttons when the printer starts flashing different lights.

Check for Ink System Errors

  • If the blinking lights persist, there may be an ink system failure.
  • Try removing and reinserting the ink tanks securely.
  • Ensure that you have removed any protective seals from the printheads.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
