I just replaced my trusty HP Officejet 6700 with an Envy Pro 6455. In Excel 2010 draft print mode, all the grid lines in Excel files won't print. About every alternate one actually prints, although print preview shows no problems. The problem is "solved" by switching to normal print mode but to my mind that's not a solution, only a way to use more ink. My OfficeJet didn't have this problem so I assume it's an evolving HP "feature" (read: problem). I've looked at all the archived workarounds but none work. Any other solutions welcome.

@Dataczarina, Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Do you experience this issue while printing from other applications like Word, PDF or Emails/Webpages?
Let us try these steps to resolve this issue:
Run HP Print and Scan Doctor to diagnose and fix any driver issue
Click here to download the file. Once downloaded, make sure to run the file to start the installation and click on 'Fix printing'.
Reset the printer
- With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer.
- Wait at least 60 seconds.
- Reconnect the power cord to the rear of the printer.
- Turn ON the printer, if it does not automatically turn on.
- Wait until the printer is idle and silent before you proceed.
Note: HP recommends connecting the printer directly to a wall outlet rather than a surge protector or a power strip.
Update the printer firmware
Click here to download and install the latest firmware from your computer.
