Hi @Billpjames,
Thank you for letting us know about your cartridges (HP 67). I’d be happy to suggest some more affordable HP printers that are compatible with those cartridges.
Compatible Printers with HP 67 Cartridges
The HP 67 (and 67XL) cartridges are used by many HP DeskJet and HP Envy models.
Here are a few budget-friendly HP printers you might consider:
Here are a few highlights from that list:
- HP DeskJet 2721e All‑in‑One is a compact all-in-one printer, good for home use.
- HP DeskJet Ink Advantage 2776 All‑in‑One is a balanced option with modest features.
- HP AIO Ink Advantage 2876 offers slightly more features (connectivity, scanning, etc.).
I hope this helps.
Take care and have an amazing day!

Hi @Billpjames,
Welcome to the HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.
If your HP DeskJet 2800e printer is showing a spinning circle on iOS and won’t start up or complete setup, this is a known issue that can occur during wireless setup or when the printer is stuck in Wi-Fi setup mode.
Step-by-Step Fix for Spinning Circle on iOS
1. Restore Wi-Fi Setup Mode on the Printer
This resets the printer’s wireless settings and allows it to be rediscovered:
- Turn on the printer
- Press and hold the Wireless button and the Cancel button together for 5 seconds
- Wait until the Wireless light starts blinking. This means Wi-Fi setup mode is active again
More details: Restore Wi-Fi setup mode on your HP printer | HP® Support
2. Forget the Printer in iOS Settings
- Go to Settings > Wi-Fi
- Tap the printer’s network (e.g., HP-Setup-XXXX) → Tap Forget This Network
- Restart your iPhone or iPad
3. Use HP App to Reconnect
- Download or open the HP app from HP App – For HP Printers, Laptops, and Tech Accessories | HP® Official Site
- Tap Add Printer
- Select your printer from the list
- Follow the on-screen steps to reconnect to your Wi-Fi

I hope this helps.
Take care and have an amazing day!

Thank you for the suggestions. Tried your solution and many other suggestions. Nothing worked. I'm calling it a Brick. i'll take my new cartridges and buy another inexpensive HP. Pretty much have to consider low end HP printers a consumable expense (many options). The cartridges are more valuable than the printer, and cost is about the same. Thanks again.

Hi @Billpjames,
Thank you for sharing that, and I completely understand your frustration. 💙
I’m sorry to hear your DeskJet 2800e didn’t recover even after all the troubleshooting. Sometimes when a printer reaches a certain fault condition (especially after firmware or connectivity errors), it can unfortunately become non-responsive, and at that point, replacement does make more sense.
If you’re planning to purchase another HP printer, I’d be happy to help you find a compatible model that uses the same ink cartridges, so you can continue using the new ones you already have. That way, you won’t have to spend extra unnecessarily.
Could you please share the exact cartridge numbers you’re using (for example, HP 67, 305, 305XL, etc.) and your region or country? I’ll recommend the right replacement models that work with those inks.
Take care and have an amazing day!
