Color LaserJet M553
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I have an HP Color LaserJet M553 printer purchased in the summer of 2020 that has recently started making a squealing noise both during startup and while printing. The fuser is showing it has 40% of its life remaining according to the Supplies Status Page. I went through all the listings under "Component Test" and the only time it made the noise was under "Transfer Motors". I tried removing/reinstalling the fuser but that made no difference.

Is this something  someone without formal HP LaserJet repair training might be able to handle and financially worth the effort?

Thank you.

If you are getting squealing when running the transfer test then either you have an issue with the transfer belt or possibly one of the cartridges. Remove the transfer belt and check for any dirty or wear. DO NOT touch the surface of the transfer belt as you will cause print defects from skin oils.
