I was trying to copy something, and the printer was stuck and wouldn't proceed. I tried turning the printer off, but it also got stuck on powering off, so I had to unplug it. After plugging it back in, I am now stuck in a start-up loop. When the printer turns on, it tells me that it was shut off incorrectly, stays on for just a few seconds, and then it flashes error code 0005FBB6 and says "There is a problem with the printer. Turn the printer Off, then On." When I try turning the printer off and on again, the same thing just happens again. I have attempted to restore the printer to its factory default settings, but it just flashes the same error message right after it starting the reset. What can I do?

Hi @M_School,
Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding Start-up Loop and Error Code 0005FBB6 on HP OfficeJet Pro 8715!
We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.
Try these steps:
Perform a Hard Reset
- Disconnect: Unplug the power cord from the printer and the wall outlet.
- Wait: Allow the printer to sit unplugged for at least 60 seconds.
- Reconnect: Plug the power cord back into the wall outlet and then into the printer.
- Turn On: Power on the printer and check if the issue persists.
Check for Obstructions
- Open the printer’s access doors and ensure there are no paper jams or foreign objects inside the printer that might be causing the issue.
Update Printer Firmware
If you can navigate the printer’s settings for a brief period before it restarts:
- Access the menu on the printer display and look for an option to update the firmware.
- If available, proceed with updating the printer firmware as newer firmware might resolve known issues.
Clean the Printhead
Sometimes, a dirty printhead can cause issues during startup. Refer to your printer manual on how to safely clean the printhead.
I hope this helps.
