I recently switched my ISP and as a result had to move my printer to a new location in my house. I also happened to upgrade my laptop at the same time. Upon moving the printer I hooked everything up, added it to my new computer, updated the printer drivers and turned on the printer. It started up seemingly fine before getting stuck in an endless initializing loop. I can't print, scan or copy any documents. I used diagnostic tools, read forum posts and took the printer apart to try to fix it. Nothing worked. So far I've:

-Tried a hard reset

-removed and reinserted the toner cartridge while rebooting

-cleared the NVRAM by holding the cancel and copy buttons down to get the "permanent storage init" message on the screen

-taken off the scanning tray to move the scanning bar because it appeared to be jammed only to place it back in the same position

This isn't my first rodeo, I'm no stranger to complex troubleshooting. I took apart a Mac mini to add more ram, I've used raspberry pi boards to make all sorts of odd gadgets. I'm no expert but I know my way around devices. I can't seem to fix this issue. Nothing has worked for me so far and I'm unable to find any additional documentation on how to fix this issue.

Hi @FedUpFrank,

I'd like to help!

I understand that the printer is stuck on the initialization screen

We can perform a factory defaults on the printer to resolve the issue

  • The reset instructions are specific for your printer and performing those steps on a different printer may corrupt the device.
  • I've sent you a private message with reset instructions, follow the reset instruction to perform a full reset and re-initialize the printer.
