My printer is stuck at the Initializing screen. I can’t connect to it with my USB or via wireless.
I have tried many of the suggestions given in this forum like removing the ink cartridges, trying to factory reset by pressing the lower corner the moment to hit the start button but it still stuck. Suggestions such as updating the firmware is completely useless since it won’t recognize my USB or wireless connections.
One suggestion someone posted would have me removing the scanner glass and fiddling around with the scanner mechanism. I don’t want to take anything apart with this machine. I’m no tech-guy. Besides, the scanner section looks fine to me.
The only other thing that I feel is relevant is that the printer “reboots” itself after awhile and give a “49 Service Error” before recycling to the “Initializing…” window again.
So what should I do?

If your HP OfficeJet Pro 6970 printer is canceling prints, there are a few troubleshooting steps you can follow:
Check print queue and status: Open the print queue on your computer and ensure that there are no pending or stuck print jobs. If there are any, cancel them and try printing again.
Verify printer connection: Ensure that your printer is properly connected to your computer or network. Check the USB or Ethernet cable connections, or if you're using a wireless connection, make sure the printer is connected to the correct Wi-Fi network.
Restart printer and computer: Power off your printer and computer. Wait for a few seconds, then turn them back on. Sometimes, restarting both devices can resolve temporary communication issues.

Yes, I've tried that and other things. I'm hesitant to try some of the other solutions I've read on this forum since I'm not a tech-guy and I'm afraid to dig myself into a deep hole. Indeed, I've read where one user tried a number of resets (factory reset, cold reset, and something called NVRAM reset) to no avail.
It seems to me that my first problem is that my printer just won't connect to my computer. Can you tell me how to clear everything off my computer and reset the printer so I can hook it up like it was just out of the box (like it was some four or five years ago? Start fresh so to speak.
