VIRUS or what???? In a moment after boot, I have a HP Support Assistant popup saying that an important update to HP Support Assistant has been installed on your MS-7320. I have no idea about MS-7320; looked it up on the web and it's something totally not relevant to me. Afraid to click OK. I do have an HP Deskjet 1000, connected but turned off for at least 7 days. If this might have been legitimate, it would be appropriate for whoever designed the popup to say what the thing is; as in "MS-7320 blah blah blah (thing name and description understandable to common PC user)". I am going to click OK and go on to disable support assistant popup -
but this popup says something has been installed. I don't have any idea what is going on here and why.
Update. Did something only the more savvy user would do; found on the forum. Found on Task Scheduler that a new HP popup is about my HP Deskjet 1000. Still suspicious: why does it say MS-7320? Come one, you SW engineers, you should know better than to give that kind of message. Was it a mistake, or is there something relevant in my printer driver?

Welcome to the HP Support Community!
- If the Update is Via HP Support Assistant, you need not worry as HPSA downloads and installs only the updates released from HP.
- It could either be a software patch, firmware update or a driver update.
- For more info on HPSA, refer to this document.
- If you have any issues with HPSA, reinstalling it would fix the issue.
- To download the latest version of HPSA, click here
- To check the installed programs on your PC, go to Control panel > programs and features.
Let me know how this goes.
If you feel my post solved your issue, please click “Accept as Solution”, it will help others find the solution. Click the “Kudos/Thumbs Up" on the bottom right to say “Thanks” for helping!

You seem to be saying that if I have something saying ~HPSA~ in my face, I need not worry, just accept and face consequences?
- Could not HP give more information than just saying that it is an update for "MS-"whatever, that I have never heard of in my 30 + years of using computers, and 8 years with this specific desktop?
- Are hackers not able to produce a popup that looks valid? Yes, they do it, have done, and will do it.
- I did, upon a lot of checking, find somewhere that the MS-whatever is associated with my HP-1000 deskjet. It wasn't easy to find out, and I don't know yet how it is associated.
- Could not HP have stated that connection, instead of expecting complete confidence in something that looks valid but carries insufficient information?
- Final point: This is the first time, in 30+ years, that I have seen a ~HPSA~ popup. In fact, I used HP laptops for some 10+ years for 50 hours a week, and never saw one.
The expectation of complete unquestioning confidence needs to be questioned. SW engineers need to provide more information for users to know, in this world of hackers.

I have brought your issue to the attention of an appropriate team within HP. They will likely request information from you in order to look up your case details or product serial number. Please look for a private message from an identified HP contact. Additionally, keep in mind not to publicly post personal information (serial numbers and case details).
Keep me posted for any other assistance.
