HP Tango X

I change a cartridge (original HP ink from Instant Ink) and now the printer won't turn on.  It does make sounds when I restart it but there is no usual horizontal light and HP Smart writes printer is unavailable. I tried unplugging, restarting, holding the Power button for seconds...

Hi @Ms164,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If your Tango X printer is not turning on after changing the cartridge, there are several possible causes and solutions you can try.

  • Check the power source: Make sure the printer is properly plugged into an electrical outlet and the power cord is securely connected to the back of the printer.
  • Reset the printer: Sometimes the printer may encounter a software error or glitch that prevents it from turning on. To reset the printer, unplug it from the power source, wait for a few seconds, and then plug it back in.
  • Check the cartridge: Ensure that you have installed the cartridge correctly. Make sure that the protective tape has been removed, and the cartridge is securely clicked into place.
  • Check the battery: If you're using a battery to power your printer, check the battery level to ensure that it's not depleted. Try replacing the battery with a fully charged one to see if that resolves the issue.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.

I have done all of the above and it did not help. The power cord definitely work because the info button lights up and the printer makes sounds. But it is never truly 'awake' and there is no usual horizontal light bar.
