I bought an HP Deskjet 2514 in the US and moved to Spain. The cartridge model in the US is 61. I checked and found out that the equivalent cartridge in Europe is the HP 301. I bought color and black HP 301XL cartridges. I install them and fit perfectly. However, once installed I get the following error message:
The cartridges listed above are not intended for use in this printer as it is currently configured.
What do I need to do in order to configure the printer so I can use these cartridges?

Hi Carlos,
From seeing your notes, did they complete the issue and the pritner accepts the local cartridges?
If so the proccess has completed.. and this would not change in the furutre..
If you were not able to reset the printer and the local ink cartridges are rejected please clarify accordingly..

Hi,
You would need to contact the local HP Support by following the form below:
A support representitive will set the printer to use the local ink cartridges, as described by the following document:

Thank you so much Shlomil. !! I have been trying to get some way to access technical support in Spain but the only option seems to be to pay 25 euros. In other threads I have seen that in all countries this product region localization is done free of charge. Would you be able to give me a contact number or an e-mail address of someone in technical support HP Spain? I have invested a ridiculous amount of time trying to solve this simple issue.
Thanks again for your help!!!

Hello Kryten. Thank you so much. The page said that support was not possible for out-of-warranty printers but I called anyway and got the issue resolved. Caveat however: I was told that the process might fail; in fact, even though the printer is working, it might cease to work in the future. In that case, the only solution is to use the product upgrade program and buy another printer. If the printer fails, I will not purchase another HP product. It took me hours to sort out this issue and it would have been impossible without your help and Shlomil.
Thanks again!
Carlos.

Hi Shlomil. The printer works fine, but the technical support person insisted that sometimes the printer just stops recognizing the local cartridges and that if that happens, there's no way to fix the printer. I was rather surprised. But the fact is that it is now working. Thank you very much!!!!
