Try these steps:

Check for Error Messages:

  • Press the information button on your printer to get more details about the error.
  • Look at the printer's display panel for any specific error messages or codes.

Review Printer Status on Your Computer:

  • Open the HP Smart app or your printer software on your computer.
  • Check the status of the printer for any alerts or messages that might give insight into the issue.

Verify Ink Cartridge Installation:

  • Ensure that the ink cartridges are properly installed and seated in the printer.
  • Check for low ink levels or any ink cartridge alerts in the HP printer software.

Paper Jam and Paper Tray Check:

  • Ensure there is no paper jam in the printer by checking the paper path and tray.
  • Remove any stuck paper carefully and make sure the paper is loaded correctly.

Restart Printer and Clear Queue:

  • Turn off the printer, wait a few seconds, and then turn it back on.
  • Clear any pending print jobs from the print queue on your computer.

Software and Driver Update:

  • Ensure the printer drivers and software are up to date. Visit the HP Support website to download the latest updates.
