HP Color LaserJet Pro MFP M479fdw
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hello,

I have a problem with my LaserJet Pro MFP M479fdw bought in 2019.

Recently the printed content was faded (for exemple black appeared grey).

It was certainly because my toners were almost empty.

I replaced the empty initial toners 415A provided with the printer with four high-capacity replacement HP original toners 415X (black + colors) but I have still the problem where the black and colors are printed "faded".

Any idea to solve the problem ?

Thank you!

First things to check:

1. Make sure that the device is plugged directly into the wall and not into any type of UPS, surge bar or extension cord as these can all cause power starvation which results in poor print quality.

2. If you are using the printer in a dirt environment there could be dirt on the laser lens.

3. Do you have economy mode enabled?

Next steps to try:

Perform several full calibrations of the printer. If the fading persists, try performing a factory reset on the printer.

Hello,

Thank you for your answer:

1. - 2. -3. checked.

"Perform several full calibrations of the printer. If the fading persists, try performing a factory reset on the printer" -> Done -> does not solve the issue.

I therefore called HP and performed the HV and Laser test as instructed. In conclusion my printer is out of order and to fix it, it will cost me 498.52 euros TVAin. I bought it in 2019 for 436 euro TVAin (provided with a set of 415A toners)... Printer that has only used the original HP 415A toner set provided when bought and it is already out.

Thank HP for your planned obsolescence ...  I can deduce from this that you produce devices of more than questionable quality... Repair for almost the price of a new one (550 € TVAin) which will be delivered with 4 HP 415A toners...

But now I am stuck because I just put 4 new high capacity 415X toners in it. So I have no choice and I will by a new one.

Just before doing it, can someone confirm to me that the 4 new toners that have been "initialised" in it will be usable in the new one i will buy (same model) ?

Thank you,
