Hi, my printer ( mfp 178nw ) is stuck on system initialization, and I've seen exactly the same problem solved a bunch of times on this forum and the solution is sent by private message.
Thanks for any help
Have a nice day

Hi @Yuri2001,
Welcome to The HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I understand your frustration with your HP Color Laser MFP 178nwg getting stuck during system initialization. While HP sending solutions through private messages isn't ideal, there are troubleshooting steps you can try yourself to get your printer working again.
Here are some steps recommended by HP to resolve the printer initialization issue:
Power cycle the printer:
- Turn off the printer and unplug the power cord from the outlet.
- Wait for at least 60 seconds.
- Plug the power cord back into a wall outlet, and not a power strip.
- Turn on the printer and wait for it to complete its initialization process.
Reset the printer:
- Consult your HP Color Laser MFP 178nwg user manual for specific instructions on resetting the printer. This process typically involves pressing a combination of buttons on the printer's control panel.
Update the printer firmware:
- Download the latest firmware update for your HP Color Laser MFP 178nwg from the HP website.
- Follow the instructions provided by HP to install the update on your printer. Update the firmware on an HP printer

I hope this helps.
