Hi @Aleo76
Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Thanks for posting your query! We're here to help you get back up and running.
My sincere apologies for the inconvenience caused to you.
It sounds like there might be an issue beyond just the cyan cartridge itself, especially since HP already sent you a replacement.
Here are steps to troubleshoot the problem further:
1. Clean the Printhead
If the printhead is clogged, it could prevent cyan from printing even with a new cartridge:
On the printer's touchscreen, go to Settings > Printer Maintenance > Clean Printhead.
Perform the cleaning process and print a test page to check if the cyan ink is working.
If the problem persists, try running the cleaning cycle a second or third time (but don’t overdo it, as excessive cleaning wastes ink).
2. Align the Printhead
Misaligned printheads can also cause color printing issues:
Navigate to Settings > Printer Maintenance > Align Printhead.
Follow the instructions on the screen to complete the alignment process.
Print a test page afterward to see if the cyan issue is resolved.
3. Check Cartridge and Contacts
Even new cartridges can have contact issues:
Turn off the printer and open the cartridge access door.
Remove the cyan cartridge and inspect the gold contacts for dirt or residue.
Gently clean the contacts on both the cartridge and inside the printer using a lint-free cloth lightly dampened with distilled water.
Allow everything to dry completely, then reinsert the cartridge.
4. Print a Diagnostic Page
This test can help identify if the issue lies with the printer:
Go to Settings > Reports > Print Quality Report (or a similar option).
Review the printed page to see if cyan appears at all. If it’s completely missing, the issue might be hardware-related.
5. Update Firmware
HP regularly releases new firmware versions for printer enhancements, app updates, or issue fixes. Update the firmware regularly to get the most out of your printer.
Click on the link below for instructions on how to update the firmware of your printer.

6. Reset the Printer
A full reset can clear certain errors:
Turn off the printer, unplug it from the power source, and wait 60 seconds.
Plug it back in, turn it on, and check if cyan printing is restored.
If this solution hits the spot, please come back and click "Accepted Solution" to help others find the answer. And if you'd like to say thanks, select "Yes" on the bottom left of the public post, as that would make our day!
Take care, and have an amazing day!
