With picture sent from HP envy x360 with windows 10 OS to HP Photosmart 7525e AIO set for 4x6 paper in photo paper tray, via wi-fi , the printer says OUT OF PAPER when try to print the picture. Any suggestions are appreciated as I'm not familiar with the change of paper size. 81/2 x11 prints fine, but I want to put it on photo paper etc. I have changed the setup in the HP envy for the printer to 4x6 paper.

Let me take a moment to thank you for posting on the HP Support Forums.
I understand that you have an HP Photosmart 7525 e-All-in-One Printer and it does not print photos on the photo paper in the photo tray. The photo paper size is 4x6. I read that the printer prints fine on 81/2x11 paper. I'll be glad to assist you with this case.
I checked the paper handling specifications for your printer and found that the 4x6 paper size is supported by the printer.
Please refer to this HP document which contains detailed steps to print photos in from a Windows based computer. Secondly, if you have chosen the correct paper type and paper size from the print settings of the application you're trying to print from and the printer still does not pick the photo paper then let us continue with the further troubleshooting steps.
- Remove the 81/2x100 paper from the printer and keep only the photo paper in the printer.
- Now try to make a copy. If the printer picks the paper from the photo tray then it confirms that this is a not a hardware related issue. If the printer does not pick the paper from the photo tray then please perform the steps mentioned in "photo tray" from this link.
While copying when the paper is picked from the photo tray confirms that we need to troubleshoot the drivers. Please download and run the HP Print and Scan Doctor software. This is a free tool for Windows to help resolve issues with the printer drivers.
You may uninstall the printer drivers from the root level and then reinstall them if the paper is still not picked from the photo tray. The following steps will help:
- In Windows, search for and open Programs and Features.
- Select your HP printer.
- Select Uninstall.
- In Windows, search for and open Devices and Printers.
- In the Devices and Printers window look for your HP Printer. If you see it listed, right-click on it and choose "Delete" or "Remove Device.”
- Open up the run command with the "Windows Key + R" key combo.
- Type printui.exe /s and click OK.
- Click on Drivers tab.
- Look for HP Printer driver. If you see it click on it and click Remove at the bottom.
- Select OK.
- Select Apply and OK on the Print Server Properties windows.
- Close Devices and Printers.
- The drivers need to be downloaded and installed via this link.
I sincerely hope this fixes the issue. Let me know how it goes. Cheers! 🙂
