My printer doesn’t turn on. I already got the new power cord but still not working. I also ordered the power adapter but haven’t received it yet in the mail.
as the printer doesn’t turn on so I think it’s the power adapter that is bad or maybe something else. Any thoughts on this?

Hi @Moosewala
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
If your HP OfficeJet 3830 All-In-One Printer is not turning on, there are a few troubleshooting steps you can take to identify and possibly resolve the issue:
Check Power Connection:
- Ensure that the power cord is securely connected to both the printer and a functional power outlet. Sometimes, cords can come loose or not be fully inserted.
Try a Different Outlet:
- Plug the printer into a different power outlet to rule out the possibility of a faulty outlet.
Inspect the Power Cord:
- Although you mentioned that you have a new power cord, it's still worth checking for any visible damage to the cord or the prongs. If there's any damage, it could be the source of the problem.
Test with a Known Working Power Adapter:
- If possible, test the printer with a known working power adapter that meets the specifications for your printer. This will help determine if the issue is with the power adapter.
Check for Physical Damage:
- Inspect the printer for any physical damage, especially around the power input area. If there's any visible damage, it might be a sign of internal issues.
Reset the Printer:
- Disconnect the power cord from the printer and wait for about 60 seconds. Reconnect the power cord and attempt to turn on the printer. This is a simple reset that might resolve temporary glitches.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.-

Printer adaptor is working as I can see the green light on the adaptor. But when I connects the printer wire to the adaptor the green light go off. Here I am not talking about the power cord. I am talking about the wire that go in to side of the adaptor.
