HP Color LaserJet Pro MFP M283cdw

I am working with Sequoia 15.4, and the printer acts like it is going to print, then it just reverts back to the screen.  It is like it is initiating, then just drops off.  Any clue as to what is happening? I just downloaded the new software as well.

If your HP Color LaserJet Pro MFP M283cdw printer is experiencing issues where it seems to start printing but then stops and reverts back to the screen, here are some troubleshooting steps you can try:

Check Printer Connection:

  • Ensure that your printer is properly connected to your computer or network. If it is a network printer, make sure it is connected to the correct network.
  • For USB connections, try using a different USB cable or port.

Restart the Printer and Computer:

  • Power off the printer and unplug it from the power source. Wait for about 60 seconds, plug it back in, and turn it on.
  • Restart your computer as well to reset any temporary glitches.

Update Printer Firmware:

  • Ensure that your printer firmware is up to date. You can check for updates on the HP Support website.

Driver Issues:

  • Ensure you have the correct and most recent drivers installed for your printer. You can download the latest drivers from the HP Support website.

Clear Print Queue:

  • Sometimes, jobs stuck in the print queue can cause printing issues. Clear the print queue from your computer and try printing again.

Check Printer Settings:

  • Access the printer settings from your computer and ensure everything is configured properly. Sometimes specific settings such as "Draft" mode or certain paper sizes can affect printing.

Print Diagnostic Page:

  • Try printing a diagnostic page from the printer's control panel to check if the printer hardware is functioning correctly.

Software Compatibility:

  • Since you are using Sequoia 15.4, ensure that it is compatible with the printer. Some proprietary software can have compatibility issues, so check for any specific updates or plugins that might be necessary.
