Hi @Alfeb254,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
It sounds like your HP OfficeJet Pro 8600 Plus is showing as offline, which is a common issue that can usually be resolved with a few troubleshooting steps. Here's what you can try.
Restart Devices
- Restart the printer: Turn off the printer, unplug it for about 30 seconds, then plug it back in and turn it on.
- Restart your computer: A quick restart can often fix network or communication problems.
- Restart the router: If the printer is connected via Wi-Fi, restarting the router may help re-establish the connection.
Check Printer Connection
- For Wi-Fi connections:
- Make sure the printer is connected to the same Wi-Fi network as your computer.
- Print a wireless network test report from the printer's control panel to verify the connection.
- For wired connections (USB or Ethernet):
- Ensure that the cables are securely connected to both the printer and your computer/router.
Set Printer to Online
- On your computer, go to Devices and Printers or Printers & Scanners.
- Find your HP OfficeJet Pro 8600 and right-click on it.
- If it says Use Printer Offline, uncheck this option.
Update Printer Drivers
- Check if there are any available updates for the printer's drivers. You can download the latest drivers from the HP Support website.
Clear Print Queue
- Sometimes, a stuck print job can cause the printer to appear offline.
- Open the printer queue and cancel any pending jobs.
- After clearing the queue, try printing again.
Run HP Print and Scan Doctor
- HP provides a tool called HP Print and Scan Doctor that can automatically diagnose and resolve printing issues.
- You can download it from the HP Support website and run it to troubleshoot the issue.
Reinstall the Printer
- If all else fails, you can try removing the printer from your computer and adding it again:
- Go to Devices and Printers (or Printers & Scanners).
- Select your printer and click Remove device.
- Restart your computer, and then add the printer back by selecting Add a printer.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
