Transparency printing

Does officejet pro 8740 support transparency paper printing and if so, Why is there no “transparency paper” option in the setup settings or if the plain paper option would be just as equally fine?

The printer doesn't support transparencies that is the reason why there is no transparency paper in setup settings. You could use plain paper settings, if not satisfied with a quality try with photo paper settings.

For printing on an inkjet printer, you will need special transparency for inkjet printers, you can't use any transparencies. Inkjet transparencies have a front side that can be printed on, and backside that can't be printed on.
