Hi @Joanie45,
Good Day. Thanks for posting your query in the HP community. I read the post regarding setting up the printer on a wireless network. It will be a pleasure to assist you here.
Commendable diagnosis and splendid description of the issue before posting. Hats off you on that score. 🙂
- Does it give you any error messages?
- Did you try to connect the printer to a MAC or Windows PC on the network and check?
Please ensure that the printer first gets connected a computer on the network.
Then follow the steps in the document to print from your Ipad: https://support.hp.com/us-en/product/hp-deskjet-2540-all-in-one-printer-series/5295960/model/5385253... using Ariprint on IOS. (on Ipad)
Please check these links for steps to set up the printer on the network.
Link 1 is for a Mac: https://support.hp.com/us-en/product/hp-deskjet-2540-all-in-one-printer-series/5295960/model/5385253...
Link 2 is for a Windows PC: https://support.hp.com/us-en/product/hp-deskjet-2540-all-in-one-printer-series/5295960/model/5385253...
If your printer supports Wi-Fi direct feature then you could connect it directly to the IPad without connecting the printer to your router by following the steps from this link: https://support.hp.com/us-en/product/hp-deskjet-2540-all-in-one-printer-series/5295960/model/5385253...
The key is to follow all the steps patiently to try and resolve the issue.
Hope this helps. Let me know how this goes. I genuinely hope the issue gets resolved without hassles and the unit works great.
To simply say thanks, please click the "Thumbs Up" button to give me a Kudos to appreciate my efforts to help. If this helps, please mark this as “Accepted Solution” as it will help several others with the same issue to get it resolved without hassles.
Take care now and have a splendid week ahead.
