Trying to make a simple copy. HP 8710 printer keeps rejecting saying the paper loaded 8x11 does NOT match the printer settings (photo 4x6). I cannot reset the printer paper settings

1)  Alert the printer to the paper you are using to Copy - Tray and Paper

 User Guide – HP OfficeJet Pro 8710 Series

Starting on Page 18

and

Page 37 

Ensure the paper is loaded in the input tray properly, and set the correct media size and media type.
Upon loading paper in input tray, you will be prompted to set the media size and media type.

AND

2)  Some Printers also support setting the Copy Defaults.

1)  Tray and Paper

After changing paper -- or opening / closing the intake tray,

Select / modify the Paper Size / Type using the touchscreen Printer Control Panel

OR

If / As available, use EWS to view / adjust the Paper Size / Type

EWS > HP Document / How-to (InkJet Printers – Original Format)

 Use the HP printer Embedded Web Server (EWS)

NOTE:  Find printer IP address

Section Open the EWS over a local network orientation

OR

 HP Laser Printers - Using the Printer Embedded Web Server (EWS)

Open your Browser > Type / enter the Printer IP address into URL / Address bar

Reminder:  If asked enter the printer’s PIN number – the default number is generally located on the back or perhaps inside the carriage access area.

Open your Browser > Type / enter the Printer IP address into URL / Address bar

Tab Settings > Preferences > Tray and Paper (Management)

Select / Adjust settings for Paper Size / Type

Model and EWS version Dependent:  Advanced section

Click Apply to save changes

Open your Browser > Type / enter the Printer IP address into URL / Address bar

Tab Copy > Settings > Default Settings / Copy Defaults
