HP OfficeJet Pro 9125e All-in-One Printer
Microsoft Windows 11

For some reason I am unable to print to my HP9120e series printer from my windows 11 laptop.  It was working ok (honestly I hate this printer!!) a couple weeks ago.  Now all of a sudden, I send a document to the printer, and I get a printer error when the document gets sent from the queue to the printer.

I have no issues printing to the printer from my Windows 10 Laptop.

Hi @DFBunton,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

I'd be glad to help you!

I'm sorry to hear you're having ongoing trouble with your HP 9120e printer—it can be really frustrating when a device stops working unexpectedly. Let's get to the bottom of this and get you printing again.

  • Did you notice any recent updates or changes to your Windows 11 laptop (such as Windows or HP driver updates) around the time the issue began?
  •
  • When you receive the printer error, is there any specific message or error code displayed, either in the print queue or on the printer itself?
  •
  • Are you connected to the printer wirelessly, through USB, or with another type of connection?

Let's try these steps.

Restart the Printer and Laptop
Sometimes, a simple restart can resolve communication issues. Turn off your printer and Windows 11 laptop, wait about 30 seconds, and then turn them back on. After rebooting, try printing a test document.

Update or Reinstall the Printer Driver

  • Open Device Manager on your laptop, find the HP 9120e printer under “Printers,” and right-click to uninstall it.
  • Download the latest Windows 11-compatible driver from HP’s support website and install it on your laptop.
  • Reconnect the printer and see if the updated driver resolves the issue.

Clear the Print Queue and Restart the Print Spooler Service

  • Open Settings > Devices > Printers & Scanners, select your HP 9120e, and clear any pending jobs in the queue.
  • Press Win + R, type services.msc, and press Enter. Find the Print Spooler service, right-click it, and restart it.
  • After restarting, try to print a document again.

Run the Windows Printer Troubleshooter

  • Go to Settings > System > Troubleshoot > Other troubleshooters, select Printer, and run the troubleshooter.
  • Follow any recommendations provided and see if it detects issues with the connection or settings.

Confirm Printer Settings and Connection Type

  • Ensure that the printer is set as your default printer under Settings > Devices > Printers & Scanners.
  • If connected via Wi-Fi, confirm both devices are on the same network. If using a USB connection, try a different USB port or cable.

You may also refer to this document if the print job is stuck in Queue.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance
