Hi @IlkaP,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If you're trying to set up your HP printer but it isn't showing up in the list of available devices, here are a few troubleshooting steps you can try.

Check the Basics:

  1. Ensure the Printer is On: Make sure the printer is turned on and connected to the same network as your computer or mobile device.
  2. Check Connections: If it's a wired connection, ensure the USB or Ethernet cable is securely connected. If it's wireless, make sure the Wi-Fi signal is strong.
  3. Restart Devices: Sometimes, simply restarting your printer, router, and computer or mobile device can resolve connectivity issues.

Add Printer Manually:

On Windows:

  1. Go to Settings > Devices > Printers & Scanners.
  2. Click Add a printer or scanner.
  3. If your printer is not listed, click The printer that I want isn't listed.
  4. Follow the on-screen instructions to add your printer manually.

On Mac:

  1. Go to System Preferences > Printers & Scanners.
  2. Click the + button to add a printer.
  3. If your printer does not appear, try clicking Add Printer, Scanner, or Fax... and follow the on-screen instructions.

Use the HP Smart App:

  1. Download and Install HP Smart: Available for Windows, Mac, Android, and iOS.
  2. Open HP Smart and follow the instructions to add your printer. If your printer is not found, try the following:
    • Ensure Bluetooth is enabled on your device.
    • Use the Wireless Setup Wizard on the printer control panel to connect the printer to your network.

Reset the Printer Network Settings:

  1. Restore Network Defaults: On the printer control panel, go to Network Setup or Settings and select Restore Network Defaults.
  2. Reconnect the Printer to Your Network: Use the Wireless Setup Wizard to reconnect the printer to your Wi-Fi network.

Ensure Your Printer Drivers are Up-to-Date:

  1. Visit HP's Support Website: Download and install the latest drivers and software for your specific printer model.

Troubleshoot Network Issues:

  1. Check Router Settings: Ensure your router is not blocking the printer. Look for MAC address filtering or similar security settings.
  2. Check Firewall Settings: Ensure your computer’s firewall or antivirus software is not blocking the printer.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
