Job type: Copy / Print "Just use the Printer"
The printer is not a stand-alone device.
The printer needs to be connected to a computer, tablet, or phone to use the print function.
Copy might work but might instead get tangled up in the whole "Gee, I'm all alone" situation and balk (not finish).
Depending on the printer model and the situation,
- You need not have the printer connected to the Internet.
- You need not have the printer connected to a router controlled network.
If the printer supports the option,
Consider connecting the printer to your device (computer, tablet, phone) using Wi-Fi Direct.
Wi-Fi Direct uses the wireless radio on your printer to connect directly to the device.
In many cases, this type of limited wireless connection is enough to get by.

What else?
The printer must have a way to receive print jobs.
You need a way for the printer to communicate with your device and receive the print job instructions.
If your printer supports the option,
If you have a computer running a supported Operating System (for example, a supported version of Windows),
and
If the printer software is available AND can be loaded (installed) without an Internet connection,
then
Install the full driver printer software
Use the Wi-Fi Direct connection or (after the software is installed), connect the printer to the computer using a USB printer cable.
