I have been trying to print some of my wedding photos and all I am able to do is print in black and white, even though the photos are in colour, and do appear as colour in the preview. I know that there is a setting in the preferences that I need to change (Greyscale to Colour for example). Every time I click printer properties in the windows own  print window I get the following error:

Untitled.jpgI have also tried to Print using the HP given software but it will only print the words preview unavaliable on multiple images AND will only print in B&W even though the preview is colour. I have followed the steps on all of the forum posts I have found before. I.E I have completely removed any trace of the printer, cleared temp files and reset my laptop to reinstall the drivers from the sites, even the doctor application that HP suggests and it did not work. I don't have a restore point saved either to try rolling back my computer as I've recently had the system factory reset due to a upgrade. The laptop I am using has no issues, so I know it's not computer. I have been able to print in colour before and it's only today a week or some since I last used it that I needed to print again. I've down updates on the printer itself too. Any more suggestions? All other functions of the printer seemed to act like normal. I scaned a previouly printed colour image and that came out in colour no issues.

Greetings!

Welcome to the HP Community. This is a great place to get support, find answers and tips to your technical queries. I have reviewed your post and I understand, you are unable to print in color.

Appreciate you trying the steps. Don't worry, I'm here to help! To better assist you - Are you experiencing the same issue while making a copy as well?

Let's try these steps -

Step 1 HP Print and Scan Doctor -

Click on this link to download and run HP Print and Scan Doctor from here.

Step 2 Re-install the printer drivers -

1) In the search box, type and open "Uninstall a Program".
2) Look for HP Printer software.
3) Right-click to uninstall.
4) In the search box, type
and open “Devices and printers”.
5) In the Devices and Printers, look for your HP printer. If you see it listed right-click on it and choose “Delete” or “Remove Device”.
6) Open the run command with the "Windows key + R" key combo.
7) Type printui.exe /s and click Ok. (Note: there is a space in between “printui.exe” and “/s”).
8) Click on the "Drivers" tab.
9) Look for HP Printer driver. If you see it Click on it and click “Remove” at the bottom.
10) Select Ok.
11) Select Apply and Ok on the Print Server Properties windows.
12) Close Devices and Printers Once the software and drivers are removed.
13) Restart the computer.
14) Download and install the software and drivers from here.

Let me know how that goes.
