My wireless printer has been working fine for several months now. All of a sudden I can't print. I have tried many things such as shutting down my computer, printer, and the wireless router as well as deleting the printer and trying to add it back but the message I keep receiving is:
Unable to verify the printer on your network.
Unable to connect to ‘ENVY 4520 series._ipps._tcp.local.’ due to an error. Would you still like to create the printer?
When I press "Continue" it tries to set up the device, and then gives this message:
An error occurred while trying to add the selected device.
Unable to communicate with the printer at this time.
The printer itself shows that it is on wireless and the HP Network Configuration Page lists the Network Status as "Ready" and the Active ConnectionType as "Wireless" and the Internet as "Connected".
When I go to add the printer back it finds it, but I just keep getting the above message.
Hoping someone can help. Thanks,

You are welcome. 🙂
Thanks for trying the steps. I appreciate it.
I suggest you to enter the IP address is a different web browser and check (Chrome, Microsoft Edge, etc.) If it still does not work then it is probably a printer connectivity issue to the network. In such a case, please perform the steps mentioned in detail in this link: Printer Does Not Maintain Wireless Connection.
NOTE: Please do not use the HP Print and Scan Doctor as suggested in the above link because it works only on Windows.
Hope this helps. Let me know. All the best! 🙂

Happy New Year to you! Welcome to HP Support Forums. 🙂 I came across your post and would like to help.
I understand that your HP ENVY 4520 All-in-One Printer has stopped printing over the network. When you try to add the printer back to the network a message appears as Unable to verify the printer on your network and An error occurred while trying to add the selected device. I appreciate the steps you have performed and have certainly done a good job.
I would like to know if any changes (hardware or software) took place on the laptop after which this issue may have started. Meanwhile, I recommend you to perform the following steps to isolate the issue and arrive at a fix:
- There should be an IP address printed on the HP Network Configuration Page.
- Please type this IP address in the address bar of your web browser and check if the EWS (Embedded Web Server) page of the printer can be accessed from your PC.
- Secondly, please perform the steps from this video to reset the printing system in Mac and then try to add the printer: http://hp.care/2f9ksug
I sincerely hope this fixes the issue. Let me know. Cheers! 🙂

Hi Kazi:
Thanks so much for your help. I tried to enter the IP address shown under IPv4 on the HP Network Configuration Page and the blue bar that appears after you hit enter went across about 1 inch and then froze. I tried this several times but nothing happened.
I went on and reset the printing system, but in the end got the "unable to verify the printer on your network" message.
As far as software updates goes, I installed the Mac OS 10.12.2 update on December 22nd, but I believe that I was able to print after that date (but I could be wrong about this). There haven't been any hardware updates on my computer since I've been having this problem with the printer.

Kazi:
I downloaded Google Chrome and entered the IP address in the browser but received a message saying that the address is unreachable.
I then worked through all of the steps in the page you referred me to and was successful once I changed the channel that my modem is on. I am able to print again.
Thanks so much for your help!
