Thanks for posting your query! We're here to help you get back up and running.

Apologies for the frustration—this error code 0x800f0206 seems to be a common issue when updating the HP ENVY Inspire 7920e on Windows 10. Here are some steps that might help:

Troubleshooting Steps

Restart Your PC and Printer

  • Power off both devices, unplug them for 60 seconds, then turn them back on.

Run Windows Update Troubleshooter

  • Go to Settings > Update & Security > Troubleshoot > Windows Update.
  • Run the troubleshooter and follow any recommended fixes.

Manually Download the Update

  • Visit HP’s driver page and download the latest firmware manually.
  • Install it directly instead of relying on Windows Update.

Reset Windows Update Components

  • Open Command Prompt (Admin) and run the following commands one by one:
    net stop wuauserv
    net stop cryptSvc
    net stop bits
    net stop msiserver
    ren C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution SoftwareDistribution.old
    ren C:\Windows\System32\catroot2 catroot2.old
    net start wuauserv
    net start cryptSvc
    net start bits
    net start msiserver
  • Restart your PC and try updating again.
